I don't really like to read, but I'll watch any kind of movie with my friends! I used to work part-time at a movie theater. I love listening to all kinds of music, especially J-pop, electronic, classical, and foreign music. 🎶

[but it's because he understands that he can meet her gaze with his own, steady and firm. his glasses slip to the tip of his nose, allowing her a nice peek at what lies beyond the lenses]

[The moment his glasses slip down, she's arrested by the look in his eyes. Maybe it's the mark on her wrist throbbing gently beneath her thumb, but she can't help but gaze into them, seeking the same resilience and unwavering façade that she wears herself.

She lets go of her own wrist to reach up, then hesitates, searching his eyes for permission to remove his glasses.]

Do you really mean it? [A question intended for both of those statements. Her heart aches at the thought of him leaving her alone, but is he also willing to let her worry about him? Or will he choose to shield himself away when the time comes?]

[features slacken, mouth parting slightly as his gaze flickers towards Kotone's lifted hand, then back to her again. and after a brief moment. . . he nods. quiet assent. he doesn't need those frames, anyway]

[his answer is warm and honest, even though he knows-- when the time comes-- that it won't be easy. but if she's trying for him, then. . . he should try for her, too]

[Her fingers are gentle as she pulls his glasses off, letting the frames come to rest in her lap. It's a little odd seeing him without them, but it's a good look on him, too; she tilts her head with a small, but genuine, smile.]

Can you see me okay without them? [her eyes search his, taking in this little moment. It's a little silly, considering she's seen him without a shirt, but somehow the glasses feel more revealing than that.]

[Akira has never been very good at hiding his expression. it's part of the reason he picked up his fashion glasses after he was sent to Tokyo. they made him feel. . . unassuming. helped him disappear into a crowd]

[without them, his eyes are a lot more stark. like open books with pages fluttering in the wind. he meets her gaze with his own, boldly refusing to look away]

[Something in his eyes almost takes her breath away; something in his boldness draws a light pink flush to her cheeks, even as she holds his glasses carefully in both hands and really tries to take it all in.]

...Huh?

[She'd almost missed what he'd said, the throbbing of her own heartbeat through the red heart on her wrist distracting her away from what he'd said, and almost distracting her away from the fact that she'd been leaning in as if mesmerized. Belatedly, she laughs, though she doesn't lean back just yet.]

Really? [About them being fake, that is. She tilts her head, asking more with her eyes than with her words why? but choosing not to pry into it for now. If he wants to tell her why he's wearing fake lenses, he can.] You look good with them, but... I really like being able to see your eyes more easily, too.
