[Of course, he doesn't realize he said that last bit out loud, so for a moment he just looks at her, confused. And then it clicks.
Oh hey, the strawberry impression is back.]
Ah- sorry! I just, um, I mean your power is...well from what I understand of it it sounds fascinating? I-in a good way! It's a good thing! And I guess part of that is it sounds similar to one of my classmate's, a bit, I mean there are differences but not a lot and the biggest ones kind of remind me of other Quirks and man I really wish I spent more time reading up on Quirks with metaphysical implications I don't really know the state of the science on them that well [He's definitely rambling now. Don't worry, he'll get there, he's just got to work through the OH GOD WAS THAT THE WRONG REACTION panic first.] but even so there's enough similarities that I'm pretty sure I get it and it's just...I mean it's so...what I'm trying to say is...
[Well, he's burned through the nervous energy now, leaving just nerves. He curls in on himself a bit, wrapping his arms around his knees tightly and pulling them closer to his chest. His gaze has locked firmly onto his shoes. Is he being weird? He's probably being weird. She must be so uncomfortable now.]
...it sounds like an amazing power.
[Not the same wording, but still the same sentiment. Cool, incredible, amazing, wonderful...they all mean the same thing, when it comes to powers:
[He's rambling. He's... embarrassed? In a weird way, it almost puts her at ease, because it's just so normal for him that she can't help but want to tease him for turning as red as a strawberry and going on and on about stuff she barely understands herself.
But it's kind of heartening, even if her footing still feels uncertain. She waits until it looks like he's run out of breath before even trying to respond, trying to figure out what expression she should wear or what tone of voice she should use. It's so hard to know.]
Even though I could've killed you with it?
[Death is an inevitable part of life, she knows this, but even still, being responsible for the murder of a friend...? She'd seen what being responsible for murder had done to Shinji. If it were her, she doesn't know how she'd be able to bear it, if she even could.]
[He can't help it. Normally he's not as self-conscious about expressing his feelings on a Quirk, or power in general, but Izuku's also a bit too empathetic for his own good. To say nothing of the fact that he knows his reactions to powers can be...intense. Overbearing. Creepy. He doesn't want to make her uncomfortable with him, especially not right now.
Of all the reactions he was expecting, though, that question wasn't one of them. Yet weirdly, it's a question that's grounding. He's answered questions like that before, after all.]
Of course. A lot of powers are dangerous like that, you know. The classmate with a similar Quirk I mentioned is the same - almost all of my classmates are. Mine can be dangerous to me as well as others. That doesn't make a Quirk...a power, bad.
[Dark Shadow is exceptionally dangerous in the dark, especially if something causes Tokoyami to lose control. Kacchan could've easily killed him on accident when they were children if he hadn't worked so hard to master Explosion. Poor little Eri had accidentally Rewound her own father out of existence the moment she first awakened her Quirk, and Izuku can't even imagine the trauma that alone must have caused, even without all the horrible things that happened to her afterwards. It doesn't make their Quirks any less wonderful.
If anything, the only thing almost getting killed by an out-of-control Persona has done to Izuku's opinion of the ability is make him want to understand how it works as thoroughly as possible, just so he can help Shiomi figure out what might have caused it and what possible options exist to prevent it from happening again.]
[She rests her chin against her folded arms and looks back out over town, letting that sink in. It makes sense; even after learning what had happened with Shinji and Castor, she hadn't thought any less of him or been afraid of him losing control. She'd seen how much it had destroyed him. It's not even like she was afraid of Castor himself after that, either.
Eventually, she musters a smile as she turns her gaze back toward Izuku.]

Thanks. You're a really good guy, Midoriya-kun.
