Everybody has to start somewhere! I ate a lot of convenience store food when I was younger, too, but eventually I started wanting to do something new and make stuff for myself. Sweets, mostly.
[She sets the jar on the counter beside him and skips over to a cabinet, pointing it out for him.] This is where we keep the dry goods. Flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, you know...
[And she grabs a bag of sugar and a little brown bottle of vanilla extract, dumping them all on the counter beside him. Her wide, mischievous smile fades into something smaller and more genuine as she glances up at him to meet his eyes.]
I don't do a lot of really complicated stuff, but... it's nice to make something with your hands that you can share with someone.
